In some parts of the world people call spring onions shallots

Are the shallots behind those green onions?

  4. Dog_Named_Hyzer

Reminds me of when I walked into the kitchen and my (then) gf tells me her “scallion” pancakes look different from when I made them….. she was dicing shallots.

That isn’t even a competent person’s attempt at chopping scallions.

  7. Dixnorkel

He’s so bad he confused scallions with shallots?

WTF is a pizza chef? You mean the stoned ass underage line cook who really shouldn’t be near an oven or knife?

  11. Los_amo_a_todos

That should be a crime, as a home cook I’m offended and embarrassed for the pizza chef 🤷🏻‍♀️

Im bad at pretending to understand things. You would have known by looking at me that I had no idea what,”Shallot-O’s” are.

I that this is true but in Australia these are often referred to as Shallots. What Americans call Shallots are often referred to as Eschallots, French Shallots, or Banana Shallots. Spring Onions are early season onions with the still green shoots attached.

Not saying I agree with any of the above, just providing information from my experience.

Is that like a gross new cereal or something?
